Marc Realp

Since July 2016, he is general director of the Catalan Competition Authority (ACCO), an organization that ensures the proper competitive functioning of the markets in Catalonia and works to promote more competitive markets and regulations with lower barriers of entry. He has a particular interest in promoting competition in those sectors where technological transformation makes evident the limits of current regulations.

He holds a PhD in telecommunications engineering from UPC, a Master’s degree from the University of Northumbria in Newcastle and a postgraduate degree in management development from the Universitat Ramon Llull and ESADE.

Previously, he has held positions of responsibility in the telecommunications sector in Europe and Spain, where he has provided strategic advice to several public administrations and telecommunications operators and has been an associate researcher at the telecommunications technology center of Catalonia.
